MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR A SIMPLER TIME. 'second' is a great looking propeller, however our seconds either have minimal imperfections, a poor finish or poor edging. If you're looking for a nice looking propeller and don't mind that it's not quite perfect, here's one at a great price. Most of our seconds have minor cracks. But since these are supposed to be replicas of old antique propellers (virtually all of which have similar cracks) for many customers these just add more to the authentic look.
The Corsair---which primarily flew in the Pacific theater and usually off carrier decks---had a huge 13 foot high prop, which resulted in its famous inverted gull wings necessary to keep the prop from making ground contact. Later in WW2 and in the Korean conflict, the three blade prop was replaced with a shorter 4-blade version.
We’ve designed our beautiful replica so that it’s large enough to impress visitors at six feet wide, but small enough to actually be displayed as the centerpiece of many walls. Made from heavy duty resin similar to fiberglass, it comes shipped in four parts and is easily assembled in minutes with just a screwdriver. Large keyhole openings in back of hub make hanging easy, and 37” long blade can be quickly slipped on aluminum tubes after prop hub is on wall.
